Product Description

"Scampi is a genuinely rare delicacy from the deep and pure oceans of New Zealand. With a glittering and translucent shell body, scampi is recognisable for its rich colour as much as its taste and flavour. Scampi is packed with essential nutrients, including Omega 3, unsaturated fatty acids and a variety of minerals, including calcium, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, carotene, vitamin A and eight amino acids. It is also an excellent source of protein, and is low in fat and cholesterol. From sashimi to seafood porridge, scampi can be enjoyed in many ways, both hot and cold. It is suitable for all kinds of international and fusion dishes and a huge variety of cooking techniques. The New Zealand government works hard to protect the country's precious marine resources. Only a small amount of scampi is permitted to be caught under quota each year, making it a rare delicacy among seafood aficionados. During a recent visit to China by the New Zealand Prime Minister, scampi took pride of place among state banquet dishes.
